Adult Psychology

Do you lately feel overwhelmed, with worries that overthrow you and prevent you from being focused on your daily life?

Do you feel down, unwilling to go out or socialize?

Are you going through a stage where you feel stagnant or unmotivated, as if something is missing, and you don’t know what it is?

Why go to therapy?

These questions are just some examples of situations that may lead us to go to therapy. However, there can be many other reasons (break-ups where we feel we cannot move forward, changes in our family or work life, having recurring worries that prevent us from concentrating either at work or in a conversation, feeling dissatisfied or insecure with ourselves, etc.).

What problems can we help you with?

Our team has experience working with a wide variety of problems, such as:

  • Anxiety (panic attacks, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc)
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Perinatal psychology (preconception, pregnancy, childbirth and/or parenting)
  • Insecurity and/or dissatisfaction with body image
  • Emotional dysregulation (anger management, frustration and emotional discomfort)
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement
  • Culture shock

How does a therapy session work?

In the initial sessions, we would delve into what is happening and how it is affecting the different areas of your life. We would go through your life history and your current situation (support network and stressors) to understand what has happened, and based on this, we would establish the objectives to work on and the specific tools for your situation, which would be reviewed throughout the treatment. These strategies would be practised together in session so that they can be implemented outside the consulting room as well.

Our therapeutic approach is the so-called ‘contextual psychology’. However, as we prioritise personalising the therapy to the circumstances of each individual, we can also include tools from cognitive-behavioural therapy, systemic therapy, play therapy, etc.
