Welcome to
Open Psychology
Open Psychology is a multilingual therapy centre that offers evidence-based psychological services for a wide range of difficulties and age groups.
The years of experience and specialised training of each one of our therapists enables us to offer quality service where personalised psychological care and a compassionate approach are our upmost priorities.
Who are we?
We created this centre with the enthusiasm of three psychologists who share the same way of working and understanding therapy.
We have lived in multicultural environments, and we have extensive experience working with those who are away from home. Therefore, at Open Psychology we can accompany you wherever you are, offering face-to-face sessions (Madrid and Majadahonda) and online therapy.

Why attend therapy?
Do you feel that your emotions or fears are taking over your life? Or maybe your life is going “seemingly well”, yet you feel that something is missing, and you may not even know what it is?
In therapy we learn useful tools to address the challenges we face, as well as to improve our quality of life.
How do we understand therapy at Open Psychology?
At Open Psychology we understand psychological therapy as a safe space where we accompany you, whatever situation you are going through, using evidence-based tools. We will work hand-in-hand so that we can understand what you are going through and learn new strategies.
Our therapeutic approach is called ‘contextual psychology’. That is, we understand that the way we behave is influenced by our personal history (our upbringing and experiences), and how we relate to our surroundings. We believe that we are much more than ‘our symptoms’; we need to understand what function our behaviour has in our lives (escaping discomfort, not feeling lonely, feeling that we fit in, etc) and, based on this, learn other tools that are more fulfilling in the long run.
In therapy, whether what we are doing is bringing us closer to or further away from how we would like to be. In this way, if a person tells us that they binge-eat to cope with stress, for example, we would train other skills to manage that stress in a way that does not have this cost in the long term. In the same way, we would also analyse where this source of stress is coming from (whether it is due to struggling to set boundaries, or a pressure to always exceed expectations at work, for example), and also learn other alternative strategies to deal with this.
Our team has extensive clinical experience and, since we prioritise personalising therapy to each person’s circumstances, we may also include tools from cognitive behavioural therapy, play therapy, etc, depending on the needs of each individual.
Why should I do therapy in my native language?
Our language is not merely a means of communication to express our feelings and thoughts; it also reveals cultural nuances in how we understand and interpret our surroundings, our expectations, our own identity, etc.
We believe it is very important to be able to express ourselves freely in therapy without language barriers affecting the effectiveness of therapy itself.
At Open Psychology we currently offer psychological therapy in Spanish, English and Polish.
Why choose online therapy?
Are you moving from one city or country to another, and you dread the thought of having to start all over again, when your therapist already understands you, knows your personal history, and you have already seen progress?
Do you have a job with a schedule that is difficult to combine with therapy because of the time it would take to leave the office and then return?
At Open Psychology we adapt to your situation, giving continuity to your therapeutic process wherever you are, with the comfort and flexibility that this entails.
