mother, Marta seamlessly bridges two cultures, embodying the warmth of Spain and the resilience of Scotland. She studied Clinical Psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid, where her passion for understanding the human mind and helping others took root.<\/p>\n<p>Marta\u2019s connection to Scotland runs deep. After completing her studies, she moved to Edinburgh, where she spent nearly seven years immersing herself in Scottish culture and building her career. In Edinburgh, she founded her private practice, Psicolog\u00eda en Edimburgo, dedicated to supporting migrants navigating the challenges of living abroad. She also worked with Autism Initiatives for four years, developing individualized plans to help people with autism achieve greater independence and lead meaningful lives.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Marta is also a professor at Fundaci\u00f3n Ortega-Mara\u00f1\u00f3n, where she teaches international students, and at Universidad Europea de Madrid, sharing her science-based approach to psychology. Her teaching reflects her commitment to evidence-based practices and her belief in the transformative power of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>With over 12 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, Marta has honed an integrative therapeutic approach, combining Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and EMDR. Her particular interest in Complex PTSD inspired her EMDR training, enabling her to offer specialized support for trauma recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Marta\u2019s practice is rooted in warmth, respect, and a non-judgmental ethos. While she provides science-backed treatments tailored to individual needs, she also recognizes the healing power of simply being present and creating a space where clients can be themselves. She often integrates homework into therapy, carefully customizing it to align with her clients\u2019 unique paths to growth and healing.<\/p>\n<p>Her academic journey includes a Master\u2019s degree in Health Psychology, specialized training in Couples and Family Therapy, and advanced courses on anxiety. She has also worked at Navalcarnero Prison, supporting ex-convicts, and at the Clinical Psychology Unit of the Complutense University of Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>Marta\u2019s dedication to continuous growth and open-mindedness informs her work and life philosophy.
